Navajo IPrerequisite: An interest and motivation to learn to write and read Navajo language. Student are also required completion of 1st semester in order to enroll in the class 2nd semester.

Course Description
The course will include instruction in the basic concepts of the Navajo Language.
Students will be given instruction in gaining fundamental concepts and skills of the language through a variety of units of Navajo culture.
1st Semester: Dine Moral Value Teachings, Navajo Code Talkers, K’4, Grammar, Parts of Speech. Daily reading and writing in Navajo in both quarters.
2nd Semester: Types of Sentences, Numbers, Money Counting. Community Names, External Human Body Terms, Animal Terms, Verb Paradigm. Extensive reading and writing in Navajo in both quarters.
Assessments: Students are assessed on written tests three times a semester. There is a Pre-Test at the beginning of each semester, a Mid-Term at mid-semester, and a Post-Test at the end of each semester. In addition to these assessments, unit tests and projects are given for grading at the end of each quarter.

Course Description
Spanish I provides a general introduction to the Language and Culture of the Spanish-speaking world. The main emphasis in this first year course is on the acquisition of basic vocabulary, sentence structures, and everyday expressions so that, by the end of the year, the student will be able to engage in simple conversation and written communication.

Course Description
Spanish II is designed to consolidate the material presented in Spanish I, and to increase the students’ proficiency in the four basic skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing. The course presents a more complex structure than that of Spanish I, together with an expanded awareness of the Hispanic culture.
