Course DescriptionIn this course, student is designed to introduce high school students to the field of accounting. They will demonstrate their understanding of basic fundamental principles and procedures needed to build a solid foundation for understanding basic accounting. Students will gain entry-level foundation which will prepare them to become a productive member in the workplace. The course will begin by student’s updating their career portfolio, learn to apply computer and related technology skill needed in the career, 10-Key typing skills, problem –solving, decision making and the examining the different business in our Free Enterprise Economy to become entrepreneurs, basic concepts and principles on a double-entry system to maintain financial records of a sole proprietorship, work through the accounting cycle for a sole proprietorship, analyzing business transactions, journalizing, posting and preparing worksheet and financial statements, and explore career opportunities held by accounting professionals.

Course DescriptionIn this course, students are exposed to an intermediate study of concepts, principles, and techniques used in keeping the financial records of a sole proprietorship, partnership, and corporation. They will practice the principles and procedures for calculating payroll, keeping a bank register and reconciling the account, closing process for completing the accounting cycle and developing and analyzing the financial reports for a sole proprietorship and corporation. Students will gain entry-level skills needed for the workplace with a requirement to work during football, basketball, and spring athletics to better understand the concepts introduced in the course.

Course DescriptionIn this course, students are introduced to advanced study of concepts, principles, and techniques used in keep financial records of a corporation. They will cover concepts and principles of accounting related to the financial statements of a corporation, depreciation, application of inventory accounting systems, petty cash, banking, payroll, plant assets, subsidiary ledgers, special accounting forms, and completing simulations to combine all the skills learned throughout the three courses.
